Piper Companies is currently seeking an Upstream Process Development Scientist in the Raleigh-Durham area. The Upstream Process Development Scientist will join an innovative environment of excellence within a leading Biopharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing Company.
Responsibilities for the Upstream Process Development Scientist include: • Independently solves problems as they arise and contributes to group efforts in at least one area of expertise • Develops studies for client projects that include experimental design, set-up, maintenance and harvest of shake flasks, bench-scale bioreactors and 50 L and 200 L single-use bioreactors (SUBs) • Supports upstream cell culture process development in both development and manufacturing areas • Continually develops knowledge of innovative principles and theory and maintains a current understanding of cGMP and other regulatory requirements Qualifications for the Upstream Process Development Scientist include: • Direct experience with cell culture and bioreactors • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written • Degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent with M.S. with 5+ years or Ph.D. with 2+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in downstream process development Compensation for the Upstream Process Development Scientist includes: • Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000 based on experience • Full Benefits: Healthcare, Vision, Dental, 401k, PTO, Bonus Keywords: Upstream Process Development Scientist, Upstream PD Scientist, cell culture, method development, bioreactor, mammalian cell culture, cho cells, monoclonal antibody production, recombinant proteins (BHK, Vero cells, MDCK), Large Molecule, scale up, process optimization, protein characterization, Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, cGMP, GMP, Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Holiday, Vacation, 401kVacancy expired!
