Position Title: UX Designer and Strategist (Software Engineer III) Position Location: Quincy, MA or Salisbury, NC

Position Summary: The Design practice at Retail Business Services is relatively new and growing, and the Architecture Design team has been a crucial piece to defining and building that practice. We are looking to expand our capabilities and grow our team to continue advocating and role modeling the importance and value that UX Design can bring to the table.As a broad-ranging Designer-at-large, you will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team that closely services a wide variety of domains across our IT department and the US organization. You will inspire and communicate strategies and Associate User Experience standards through high-quality deliverables that seek to influence and inform organizational decisions. You will conduct research with end-users to understand their true needs and the environment that influences them; this includes performing interviews, collecting data, and synthesizing it into meaningful results. You will facilitate and lead design sessions using contemporary methods and tools to co-create with users, mentor peers on Design methods, and support the development of new strategies. Experience, Skills & Knowledge:• A portfolio that demonstrates and articulates the ability to solve user problems and create design deliverables from beginning to end• Undergraduate or Master's degree in a design-related field or equivalent experience• Three years of UX Design experience with an appreciation and understanding of color and visual hierarchy, iconography, and aesthetics• Experienced with Design Thinking methodologies, prototyping & testing • Knowledge or experience with Lean UX (rapid prototyping, proto-personas, etc.) • Self-driven and able to operate effectively within broad guardrails and ambiguity• Impatience with the status quo and willingness to advocate for better ways of working and user outcomes• Well versed in Design & other software (Adobe Cloud, Sketch, Mural, User Zoom, Microsoft 360)• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex design concepts and the rationale behind them• Able to lead, coordinate, plan and organize events and workshops by interacting and communicating with users of all levels

Optional:• Comfort interacting with users to conduct interviews, lead meetings, and present research processes and outcomes• Versed in Agile and Scrum ways of working• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to quickly find a balance between long-term needs and short-term pressures
