Job Description

BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure associates work safely and follow all applicable Company and OSHA safety procedures and standards.
  • Conduct safety training
  • Lead 5S activities on shift or in area
  • Foster continuous improvement across the area and lead projects to improve processes. Participate on multiple kaizen teams, learn and utilize lean tools in work area
  • Provide feedback for quarterly and annual reviews
  • Provide training to department associates
  • Track hour by Hour Production/Dept. Metrics
  • Maintain KPI visual factory to include updating and posting charts, spreadsheet, or other critical info.
  • Lead KPI Report Outs - deliver and report on WOW metrics
  • Prioritize work – utilizing resources and support teams to manage competing priorities
  • Make production and staffing decisions or alternate arrangement to ensure that schedules /expectations are met - maximum output
  • Pull schedules in SAP for production or depts. using SAP, manage past dues for assigned areas
  • Manage Shift to Shift Transition by meeting daily with previous shift and following shift to review production conditions, schedules, and ensure adequate supplies for shift operation.
  • Foster/promote positive shift to shift relations.
  • Direct sub-groups/teams within a department or process.
  • Manage break/lunch schedules
  • Ensure quality standards are followed by associates
  • Ensure that established scrap goals are met
  • Review scrap data and report issues to production management
  • Interface and work with associates within and across departments, coaches, engineers, plant staff, etc
  • Perform other duties or task as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent 2 years’ experience in manufacturing Must be able to pass all assessments required for the position. Minimum level of MS Office proficiency & Basic computer skills, SAP, e-mail, etc. Strong verbal & written communications skills Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with people, projects, and issues. Acceptable performance as demonstrated through past performance reviews, attendance, coach’s assessment, references, etc. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and achieve objectives in a fast paced environment Be able to lift 50 lbs Must be able and willing to perform area job task responsibilities Must be able and willing to learn and progress to the technical skillset of a Molding Setter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the processes and equipment in the department/area
  • Prior leadership or management experience
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing tools - willing to participate in Continuous Improvement Training
