- Reviews specifications and bid proposals and cost estimate requests to establish the feasibility of accepting orders. Determines manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost, and delivery schedules.
- Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; oversees their assembly and proofing.
- Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues.
- Coordinates new product development and cost reduction activities.
- Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing support software.
- Plans, supervises and executes work measurement, and defines operations and operation balance to TAKT time.
- Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically.
- Participates in and leads Kaizen events.
- Be aware of and help maintain all environmental, health and safety factors in the plant.
- This position requires an associated Degree in Engineering with one (1) to two (2) years of progressive, hands on manufacturing engineering experience.
- This position also requires knowledge of formal problem solving methods along with maintenance background.
- Experience with new products and process introductions along with a working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also recommended.
- In the absence of an associated degree in engineering, a minimum of six (3) years' experience is required, might be compensated with exposure to manufacturing, and/or mechanically inclined, MS Office capable - CAD and/or 3D: added plus, procurement exposure, or 3D CAD
