You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and software throughout our development process. Your technical duties involve the design and development of new software products throughout the product lifecycle.

SNC's TRAX software plays an integral part in bridging battlefield communication gaps for Military and Coalition Partners, effectively eliminating any proprietary interfaces and protocols, allowing commanders to receive a sound common operating picture of their battle space. This position will work as part of a larger Agile software development team to rapidly provide operational capabilities to the field.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. Must-haves:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in Java, Kotlin, or C#
  • Knowledge of the Android Platform and SDK (Software Development Kit)
  • Experience designing and developing software
  • Experience in project definition
  • Ability to rapidly work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large teams
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:
  • Development experience in the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) Android Infrastructure app is highly desired
  • Expensive experience in C# ASP.NET Core
  • Experience in Scala, Python, Go, and C

Responsibilities:
  • Works as part of a larger Agile software development team to rapidly provide operational capabilities to the field
  • Develops software that is heavily used by US Special Operations Forces (SOF) with a high demand for additional features
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
  • Elicit, derive, and document software and/or system requirements to meet internal or external customer specifications
  • Define software/and or system architecture, design software modules, and produce associated documentation per corporate or customer standards
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
  • Ensures software standards are met
  • Write and test software modules and integrate with other software and/or hardware components
