This senior position is responsible for the Credit Risk Appetite Framework for all of the Global Consumer Risk businesses, oversight of the Material Risk Inventory, the design of key risk indicators to monitor adherence to the Risk Appetite Framework as well as to measure GCB risks as identified in the MRI. Lastly, as this role provides the global perspective on the consumer risk appetite, risks and monitoring, this director is also responsible for leading the reporting and commentary on the state of the Global Consumer portfolio to major stakeholders, including regulators, Board updates, and GCB executives.The Director collaborates with the Consumer Business CROs, Global Product Specialists, Risk Planning & Analysis, and GCB Risk Management Reporting to:Articulate Vision for GCB’s Risk Appetite and manage related GCCFRP policies to clearly communicate standards for risk taking activities, consistent with enterprise wide Risk Governance Framework
Manage challenge process for Material Risk Inventory (MRI) and Top Risks
Develop Key Risk Indicators to measure and aggregate GCB risks in the MRI
Revise forward-looking metrics that capture Risk Appetite, in line with Quantitative Risk and Stress Testing standards
Manage reporting and communications to key stakeholders on state of portfolio at a global level (Board, regulatory reporting).
Interface with Citi, GCB CAOs, to support the Consent Order for Consumer Risk Management
The build-out of these frameworks and metrics are tied to Citi-level regulatory matters and Consent Order. This senior leader is representing the GCB credit risk stripe in these mandates, and therefore must possess credit expertise of the consumer businesses globally, awareness of relevant Citi Risk Governance frameworks, and with an understanding of the strategic direction of GCB and how to design and implement standards and metrics that are relevant for the global consumer businesses. The director must be an excellent writer, with the ability to synthesize information and reports across our regions and businesses, glean insights and distill them into a communique that resonates with stakeholders.This individual exhibits a passion for risk management who understands consumer credit lending trends, coupled with being bold and curious to challenge risks identified in the MRI, and anticipate those that may be emerging. The individual must possess strategic thought leadership, sound judgment, strong relationship management skills, and excellent communication skills in order to reach and influence a wide range of audience and reinforce the risk culture. Having an in depth understanding of Citi’s governance frameworks, how to interpret them, and understanding the ramifications on GCB Risk Appetite Framework and Global Consumer Credit Risk Policy is a must.Qualifications15+ years of relevant risk management or related analytical/technical experience required
10+ years of people management experience, including experience as a manager of managers
Demonstrated experience in leading change, with track record of identifying and implementing large scale risk transformation initiatives to improve business operations and performance
Relevant experience in the following areas:
Consumer credit risk management
Risk management re-engineering
Governance, project management,
Management of policies, risk frameworks, or large scale risk governing documents
Strong knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations and the current environment which govern Risk Appetite
