The maintenance technician provides the key link from Engineering and Maintenance to the Business for budgeting/goal alignment, ensures work process compliance and ensures the use of Most Effective Technology (MET)/work practices within the facility. Requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. May act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.The R&D Maintenance technician will work directly with pilot plant engineers, operations team, site contractor resources and other resources such as subject matter experts to enhance reliability and performance capability of the R&D pilot plant operations.Key Responsibilities:Works with R&D personnel and facility contract resources to coordinate, prioritize and schedule pilot plant activities. Ensures that value added and complete service requests are generated.

Understands the plant/department strategy, budget, business objectives, value added criteria and day to day operations.

Enables seamless integration between operations and service providers.

Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience

Responsible for ensuring effective communication of plant status through daily reports, verbal shift change, field walk-through and logbook documentation.

Determines if procedures and plans for new service requests are aligned.

Reviews work status with service providers and work originators.

Reviews plans, preparations, and safety intentions of resources assigned to complete work and repairs in the facility.

Creates, develops, changes and updates maintenance procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure MOC’s, as needed.

Coordinates work from functional support organizations to be performed by operations personnel.

Acts as plant liaison to functional support organizations for general activities and sharing of core plant personnel.

Ensures appropriate operational resources are allocated to perform mechanical tasks and activities.

Utilizes, updates, and adjusts the OPD-Task List to schedule maintenance activities that impact operations.

Works with Turnaround team to ensure start-up and shut-down tasks align with plant operations activities.

Participates in development/monitoring of the maintenance budget and applies status/forecast as an input to manage maintenance work in the facility.

Collects and/or reviews process data for improvement purposes and corrective actions.

Works with plant and maintenance resources to ensure plant specific compliance activities are scheduled and completed to maintain compliance.

Required Qualifications:4 years of experience in maintenance (manufacturing or military experience).

Current, valid US driver’s license.

Ability to work overtime as needed.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Education:High School diploma or equivalent and one of the following is required:

Associates degree or higher in a mechanical discipline.

4 or more years of maintenance or relevant military or manufacturing experience
