Successful Family Law firm is now hiring a Civil Litigation Specialist/Paralegal with at least 4 years experience. Candidates that possess an NC Paralegal Certificate and are registered as an NC Notary Public will receive priority consideration. Membership to the NCBA Paralegal Division with up-to-date CPE credits is also considered an asset.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be very well organized, self-confident, self-motivated, and be able to engage and work well with attorneys, clients, peers, and other legal professionals. Must also have experience with proofing and drafting attorney correspondence and legal/court documents, including AOC forms.
In addition to having excellent communication skills, the ideal candidate should possess solid mathematical skills for calculating equitable distribution, child support and at times billing for attorney/paralegal fees and managing IOLTA/operating accounts.
We are seeking a seasoned candidate with court calendar, courthouse, courtroom and mediation experience. Internally this position requires the ability to use basic office software programs and equipment, but the willingness to learn new programs as they will enhance office productivity.
This position primarily services New Hanover County, however there are times when travel to Brunswick County and Pender County are required for court filings, appearances or mediations.
Hours are M-F from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a salaried position, including benefits, paid holidays and vacation. Annual performance reviews and merit increases are also standard practice.
