Counter Representative (grand forks)

American Welding and Gas has an immediate need for Counter Representative position in Williston ND. A Counter Representative provides excellent customer service by assisting customers with ordering and purchasing products (industrial, medical, food grade, specialty gases along with welding/industrial supplies). Performing material handling functions within the branches.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport customer experience in store and via phone when ordering and purchasing products through cash and charge account transactionsAssist with administrative duties including daily transaction reconciliation, filing, end of day processing and opening/closing the storeEnsure inventory is organized and properly stored in the warehouse; stock showroom as neededReceive and process inbound freight, including logging, receiving purchase orders and filling backordersAssist branch manager in achieving and/or surpassing targeted budgeted sales projectionsAssist branch manager with building and equipment maintenanceConduct cylinder exchanges, purchases and returnsFill various types of cylindersMaintain fill records to ensure compliance and accountabilityPrepare outbound freight for delivery, including picking, packing and staging for loading on trucks and/or shipping via other meansAbility to operate forkliftFollow and comply with all company safety policiesMay assist in deliveries as neededOther duties as assignedQualifications & Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GEDPrevious customer services experience requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredAble to lift 75 pounds; maneuver 100+ pounds with mechanical assistance (rolling cart, pallet jack, etc.)Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills preferredDetail oriented; team player and adaptableMust have Clean Driving RecordKnowledge of welding processes and gas supplies preferredPhysical requirements:Lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneelingRepetitive movementOperating motorized equipmentSitting; standing; walkingWorking indoor/outdoor as business needsWorking at increased noise levelsSafety hazardsAmerican Welding & Gas, Inc (AWG) is an employee owned company, which manufactures and distributes industrial, medical, specialty and beverage gases.
