Mongoose Trucking & Hot Shot, LLC is a hauling company located in Parshall, North Dakota, that specializes in the transportation of produced water and wellsite equipment throughout the Williston Basin for the oil and gas industry. Mongoose is growing rapidly and is hiring. Were looking for a full-time HR professional who can wear many hats and flex different skills. Mongoose offers excellent pay and benefits to include: Health and Dental Insurance, Paid Vacation and Paid Holidays. Company housing is available at no charge (other than a security deposit). A company vehicle will be provided. The HR Generalist will report to the companys Transportation Manager and will be supported by the companys corporate HR Director.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Offer proactive recruiting assistance: develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract qualified applicants
Post job openings on various job sites and monitor applications
Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations
Conduct job fairs (may require travel out of state)
Assist management with the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
Know laws, best policies and practices in HR. Keep current and understand statutory and regulatory requirements affecting HR programs including EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, etc.
Provide advice and service to management on employee relations and performance management issues
Assist management and the corporate HR Director in the investigation of employee issues and conflicts and aid in bringing them to resolution
Identify ways to improve employment policies and procedures
Prepare offer of employment letters, employee write-ups and termination records
Assist management in administration of the company-provided employee housing program
Skills/Abilities
An Associates or Bachelors degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area; alternatively, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification will be considered
Minimum of 2+ years experience in a human resources position
Knowledge of a broad range of human resource practices and the ability to apply these practices in compliance with employment regulations
Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
Effective verbal and written skills
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork
Physical Requirements
Office environment
Ability to be stationary (sit or stand) 80% or more of the time
Constant ability to operate a PC and other pieces of office equipment
Constant ability to communicate/exchange information with coworkers, venders, customers, and others
Constant ability to see to review work documents
Ability to occasionally move about in the office to access file cabinets, copiers, etc.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle to conduct company business
