Job Description

Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Entomologist to work in Prospect Hill, NC.

Entomologist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

:

  • General Management - Maintains accountability in delivering to client needs/timelines and business financial objectives. May fulfill the role of Study Director, Lab Supervisor or Principal Scientist, as assigned. Adjusts work hours and provides cross-functional support to other departments. May be required to support directly in lab, if projects require. Works effectively, with little to no oversight, to achieve business results, while adhering to project timelines and quality objectives. Routinely communicates business forecast, project updates to internal and external clients. Supports business unit goals and demonstrates Eurofins’ competencies.
  • Leadership - Provides leadership to organization in site business initiatives, including day to day operations, strategic planning and ongoing continuous improvement. Provides change management leadership to site employees within a dynamic and global organization.
  • Be familiar with pertinent study protocols, GLPs, SOPs and ensure adherence to them in one's own work as well as work received from other individuals
  • Develop a long term business plan around testing capabilities and growth including short term goals
  • Coordinate with staff members to resolve problems within the laboratory and with staff from other departments to resolve problems between the lab and others;
  • Coordinate studies and study programs with clients and keep them informed of protocols, schedules and progress;
  • Gain a working knowledge of the complete financial picture including; revenue, forecast, budget, and costs
  • Work to optimize costs and have a deep knowledge of supply needs and inventory
  • Perform, as required by corporate needs, the functions of a Study Director/Principal Investigator in the scientific management and conduct of assigned studies
  • Other duties as required for the effective and efficient operation of the laboratory and company in general.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess

:

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications

:

  • Master’s degree in Entomology or other related science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Science background, technical leadership, managerial competencies, laboratory experience, and a desire to support the holistic needs of the organization.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
