We are currently seeking an

Economic Development

Managerfor our

Infrastructure and Economic Development practice in our

Raleigh, North Carolina office

. Remote candidates may be considered within North Carolina.

This position is responsible

for developing key relationships with state, regional and local governments for economic development and infrastructure projects.These projects may involve sensitive political or environmental concerns, project coordination with property owners, utility companies, and local county and state agencies. An ability to manage several mid-sized or large multi-disciplined projects across multiple project teams simultaneously is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for developing key relationships with site selection consultants, industrial developers, utility / power companies and municipal governments for the recruitment of new business related to economic development, infrastructure and site development projects
  • Responsible for business and client development, strategic marketing, proposal preparation, negotiation of scope and fee, technical quality of products, profitability, schedule, project team coordination, and client communications
  • Provide assistance with grant applications and funding from federal and state programs
  • Provide assistance with site evaluations and site certification programs
  • Ensure confidentiality of client projects and client information
  • Maintain superior relationships with each of his/her clients and cross-sell Timmons Group services which may fall outside of his/her direct professional expertise
  • Routinely make independent decisions while maintaining direct and ongoing communications with Timmons Group management

Qualifications

Skills/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A bachelor’s and/or master's degree in business or public administration, or similar field
  • Ability to obtain CEcD a plus
  • 10+ years of economic development and industry-related business development activities to include active prospect recruitment and management of large multi-disciplined teams across multiple service sectors.
  • Experience with site selection, product development and/or incentive negotiation. Business development activities with site selectors, power companies, railroads, state agencies and/or regional economic development groups a plus
  • Experience with management of large projects including site development and/or infrastructure, to include components such as transportation, site development and/or utility work
  • Experience with managing project teams that use relevant office software, modeling, AutoCAD and ArcGIS technologies to implement client solutions
  • Experience with client management software such as Vision, SalesForce, SPSS and/or iMIS
  • Demonstrated and excellent communication skills with clients, principals, marketing staff and internal project delivery teams
  • Demonstrated interest in growing our economic development practice and strategically expanding the Timmons Group brand and footprint throughout the southeastern United States

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will supervise multi-disciplined engineering teams related to project delivery as well as marketing staff for development of proposals and other materials.

Language/Mathematical Reasoning Skills

Ability to read, understand and interpret civil engineering drawings, reports and contract specifications. Ability to think logically and systematically through the various phases of a project and help implement technically-challenging client solutions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be able to drive a vehicle.
