Kindly review the below job description and let us know if you are interested and available.Position: GIS Technician I Duration: 11/01/2021 to 10/31/2022Location: 150 SPRINGSIDE DR, SUITE C350 Akron Ohio 44333Description:Good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications such as Microsoft Suite - Problem resolution; ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle changing and emerging priorities - Interpersonal; customer service; verbal and written communication skills - CAD type drawing skills - Analytical and detail oriented Preferred Skills: Computer Science, Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology, GeographyTop 3 Required Skills1) Ability to learn quickly2) Ability to work independently3) Attention to detail and focus on accuracy• Nice to Have Skills:o This is an entry level GIS position. Some exposure or background to GIS systems is helpful. Most people have an ESRI background, but we are working on a different GIS platform and will need to teach most people in any case. Exposure and understanding of GIS systems is helpful.o General knowledge of databases• High Level Project Overview:o We work on many different projects, including making maps, mapping a subset of our natural gas system, and ensuring that data is captured correctly.• COVID Remote Policy:o We are currently working in a hybrid environment, with partial remote and partial office time. If contractors are experiencing COVID symptoms or have tested positive, we are allowing remote working if they are able to do so. Contractors ideally should be local to the home office.• What makes this position unique or exciting?o This is a great entry level position to learn more about GIS systems and the natural gas industry.• Preferred Years of Experience:o None required.• Interview Process Overview (High level):o Virtual interview to ensure the applicant understands the position and is interested, and to gain a general understanding of their knowledge/skill set and if they’d be a good fit for the position.• Additional Good To Know Info:o Team works 7-3:30 Monday – Friday. If working remotely, will need access to a reliable WiFi network.
