Portfolio Manager -Full-Time Direct Hire!Modis, Inc. is seeking a Digital Portfolio Manager for a full-time direct role with a global leader in retail, and the candidate can work in Akron, OH or Dallas, TX. The Digital Portfolio Manager supports the strategy and alignment of the portfolio demand intake for incoming projects of various sizes, complexity, and duration. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years’ experience in IT-related Portfolio Management. Digital or eCommerce background is a big plus. Portfolio Manager Job Responsibilities Include :
  • Works with Product and Technology teams to ensure that the projects align within the organizational strategy, the appropriate teams are involved in scoping and sizing/estimating, and are resourced to meet the needs of the business, including developing Capital Budget Requests and assisting in developing the business case for new projects and initiatives
  • Primary focus is managing demand intake from demand origination to project closure, managing governance around intake processes, demand prioritization, demand sizing, and demand approval.
  • Leads and manages the “Project Initiation” process – drives project estimates and timelines, develops Capital Justification Requests, assists in developing the business case and return on investment rationalization for new projects.
  • Works with key business partners, technical teams, internal solution architects, etc., to identify the scope of projects and size/effort to create a high level business scope which identifies and teams and activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Supports the gathering of high-level business and technical requirements for initiatives to effectively drive initial scope.
  • Works with associated vendors and business partners to determine resource and capacity required and assists in developing and consolidating estimates and resulting contracts derived to reflect the required project budget.
  • Coordinates with other Portfolio Managers across other functional and IT areas to coordinate and identify technical and resource dependencies.
  • Develops resource plans as necessary to complete the project successfully to implementation.
  • Utilizes ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence tools as necessary to establish initial scoping process adjusting for both Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Works with Project Managers, Delivery leads and Vendor Management Organization to negotiate contracts to ensure budgetary alignment and successful execution.
  • Manages risk evaluation and compliance management for specific initiatives or programs within the portfolio.
  • Reports out to key stakeholders on the assigned portfolio including demand metrics, tracking and status.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience specifically in Project Portfolio Management or related business management or financial role.
  • Strong Financial experience and exposure to cost estimating, capital expenditure management.
  • Expertise in budget planning, financial management and resource management.
  • Retail / Digital experience desired.
  • Ability to understand functional and non-functional requirements, technology enablers, common Digital platforms, and solutions.
  • A problem solver, with an intense focus on achieving goals.
  • Strong business acumen, business planning skills, and leadership capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and task simultaneously to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Experience in both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Exceptional listening, oral and written communications skills with the ability to translate information into understandable terms to a variety of audiences.
  • Responsive and alert to new learning opportunities, growth, and development of technical, interpersonal, and business skills; able to recognize and address areas needing improvement.
  • Motivated and competent to contribute appropriate time and effort to work needing attention.
  • Attentive to detail with focus on accurate and timely results, but with keen sense of the big picture.
