This position is fully remoteProgramming Quality Assurance Tester Develops, executes, and documents scenarios for quality assurance testing of system surround code functionality and features. Communicates with programming developers and management about code defects and testing results. Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education Required:

  • Associate Degree or may substitute with 2 years of like experience.
Experience & Training Required:
  • 2+ years performing same or similar responsibilities. Relevant experience includes any combination of the following: quality assurance testing, application development and/or project analysis.
  • Experience with all or most of the following:
  • Applications: Health Insurance Payment systems interfaced applications, Microsoft Test Manager, Team Foundation System, Visual Studio, SharePoint
  • Databases: Relational Database knowledge/experience with SQL Server, including Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services. Knowledge of Oracle DBMS and Application Suite
  • Other Software: Visio, Microsoft Office, MS Access, Microsoft Project

  • Demonstrate excellent computer knowledge with the ability to learn new software programs and systems.
  • Interface with staff at all levels.
  • Maintain current knowledge of SMSO programs and systems.
  • Operate standard office machines.
  • Organize and manage time to accurately complete tasks within designated time frames in fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and comply with regulatory and company policies & procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member health and business information.
  • Flexible: ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands.
Level of Physical Demands:
  • Light: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously
Essential Functions: The following job specific requirements should discuss the essential duties and responsibilities required of the position. They should not replicate those duties and responsibilities discussed above.
  • Using agile principles will work closely with development team to design strategies, including manual and automated test cases, that efficiently test the functionality of new or existing program applications.
  • Uses SQL and other reporting tools to query data for use in testing scenarios and for data validation.
  • Reports defects into bug tracking system and communicates defect details with programming development team to evaluate possible resolution.
  • Interacts closely with management and programming development staff to create best practice documentation for usability and quality standards of programming applications.
  • Assists as requested, in compliance testing, such as testing of HIPAA, CORE, CMS, etc. to validate meeting requirements.
  • Develops metrics and performs root cause analysis of post-implementation bugs to continuously enhance future test plans and testing approaches.
  • Assists in basic troubleshooting and research activities for programming and data issues.
  • Uses Microsoft Test Manager and Team Foundation Server to complete and maintain system documentation for all programming applications tested, including test cases, bug tracking, flowcharts, version control information and quality control documents.
  • Communicates and updates Time, Change Requests (CR'S) and project status to management.
  • Performs all job functions with integrity. Provides timely internal and external customer service in cooperative, professional and respectful manner.
