Summary of Position: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates clinical information system support needs for patient care operations according to policies, procedures, protocols, and standards. The senior clinical application analysts - informaticist is responsible for advanced clinical system assessment, workflow charting, process analysis, and identifying and implementing clinical information system solutions. In addition, the senior clinical applications analyst - informaticist role will mentor, set standards of work, and support clinical informatics team members.Minimum Qualifications: Formal Education Required:- Bachelor's degree in clinical / business field (nursing, pharmacy, medical, etc) or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Clinical / Business-related courses preferred
- Experience and Training Required:
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in clinical/business system management and acute healthcare services which includes two (3) years a Clinical Analyst or Informaticist role.
- Certifications in clinical informatics, project management, or usability studies preferred.
- Will be required to certify in one or more (Epic) applications, and maintain certification.
- Epic Orders certification required.
- Epic EpicCare Inpatient, Ambulatory, Beacon, or Research preferred.

- Analyzes tasks/systems/problems, determine possible solutions, and design, implement and evaluate most effective solution; is a leader in aspects of planning, design, development, testing and implementation of clinical information systems with strong attention to detail.
- Provides clinical guidance and management to the clinical information systems process regarding strategic direction, project scope, design decisions, and implementation planning and execution.
- Works effectively with all levels within the organization; acts as a liaison with staff to assess their needs and provide information and support as needed.
- Maintains a positive and open attitude to change with an ability to adapt to new situations.
- Mentors team members to set priorities and utilizes problem-solving techniques with minimal direction and appropriate collaboration.
- Maintains comprehensive clinical testing plans to verify outputs and system integrity.
- Takes part in the change control process, which manages all changes to the clinical information system.
- Creates standards for workflow process modeling to assess the need for and/or use of information systems to support and enhance clinical practice.
- Has a strong desire to enhance clinical practice with technology.
- Maintains current knowledge and educates other clinical informatics staff of health care and clinical issues, organizational policies and procedures, information/clinical software trends.
- Ensures that new or modified clinical information systems maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA, TJC, and other regulatory agencies.
- Adheres to Standards of Work (SOW).
- Adheres to organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
- Participates and supports other team members in on call support and customer rounding activities.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
