Oil and Gas Title Attorney
Multi-state law firm searching for an Ohio licensed attorney to perform oil and gas title examination and draft title opinions. The position entails the following:
1. Examine various title documents to determine ownership to oil and gas fee and other real estate rights;
2. Draft title opinions setting forth ownership to lands; and
3. Discuss issues with clients and answer any questions related thereto.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and/or experience:
1. Experience in title examination and/or drafting title opinions;
2. Understand title transactions and the elements required to transfer title in its various forms;
3. Familiar with and able to determine the difference between various oil and gas rights (fee, executive rights, NPRI, working interests, etc.);
4. Knowledge of the Dormant Mineral Act and Marketable Title Act;
5. Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio; and
6. Previous experience as a landman or in the Utica/Marcellus Shale is highly desired.
