Other duties may be assigned. Compares packing slips and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing merchandise to verify information against purchase orders.Determines method of shipment.Affixes shipping label on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Packages product on pallets and shrink-wraps for shipment. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, processes ISO DMT's, records shortages, and corresponds with Purchasing Agent to rectify damages and shortages. Labels all merchandise properly for warehouse or other storage. Checks all merchandise received for backorders and sends out the backordered merchandise first. Routes items to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Operates forklift to move, convey, or hoist merchandise from freight trucks to storage or work area. Assists with maintaining cleanliness of warehouse.Assists with semi-annual inventories.
