HARVEST CELLAR WORKER
Laurentia Vineyard and Winery in Madison Ohio is seeking a paid Harvest Cellar Worker for the 2019 Harvest Season.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Winemaker, this position will perform routine cellar duties. These duties include but are not limited to the following:
Vineyard work including general labor, collecting berry samples and running lab analysis including Brix, pH and TA
Follow and observe all safe cellar practices
Sanitation in all areas (facility and equipment)
Equipment set-up
Fruit receiving on the crush pad and processing
Fermentation management including pumpovers, punchdowns, Brix and temperature checks, and pressing
General cellar work including forklift operation, sampling, racking, and more
Other duties assigned by Winemaker
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and remain on feet for long periods of time.
Must be able to climb a ladder on a regular basis.
Must be available to work long hours including weekends as needed throughout harvest.
Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
Must be able to work in cold, wet, slippery and noisy environment
Must be reliable and have reliable transportation
This is a seasonal position with the potential for year round work for the right candidate.
