Job Number: 612 Riverside Research is seeking a senior dynamic, strategic, operational, and growth focused Senior Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Engineer to perform research and development focused on providing solutions to the Air Force customer. As a key member of Riverside Research, the Senior PNT Engineer will work closely with the Government customer to define future PNT requirements and collaborate with internal technical staff to ensure successful execution of the customer's mission. This position will be responsible for identifying PNT opportunities outside of the current business portfolio, leading capture efforts, and providing domain subject matter expertise on proposal activities. The chosen candidate will serve as the senior technical member of a team consisting of software engineers, electrical engineers, and researchers to enhance and develop Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions and advance state-of-the-art software/firmware implemented data links, and PNT. The engineer will leverage multi-disciplinary expertise in areas such as: algorithms, data acquisition, signal analysis and processing, software/firmware engineering, VHDL, Verilog, and Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) hardware. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage with the government customers to understand their mission needs and requirements
  • Lead technical team to design solutions to meet customer mission needs and secure on-contract growth opportunities
  • Explain technical issues and solution strategies to government customers and stakeholders
  • Review current systems and develop strategies to integrate new capabilities
  • Produce detailed specifications software/firmware requirements
  • Work closely with other senior members of the team to guide and document the technical approach, development, and execution of individual team projects
  • Provide mentorship to the engineering team
  • Lead proposal capture efforts to maintain and grow contracts with existing and new customers
  • Provide domain subject matter expertise on Request for Information (RFI), white paper, and proposal responses
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related STEM degree or equivalent years of experience with a strong preference for PhD degree
  • GPS or GNSS experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT)
  • 3+ years of experience developing software in C or other object-oriented language
  • 3+ years of experience in Signal Processing of streaming data
  • Expertise in existing and emergent PNT technologies
  • Experience with Assured PNT and/or Alternative PNT methods
  • Ability to lead and direct the PNT research portfolio
  • Experience creating and briefing presentations to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Specific experience developing strategy, identifying, capturing, and/or winning relevant business within US Government

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Prior experience working with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)
  • Experience in signal processing of GNSS or other RF waveforms
  • Experience working in the REDHAWK SDR environment
  • Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog
  • Experience with Xilinx RFSoCs
  • Experience with Ettus USRPs and other RF digitizers and synthesizers
