Riverside Research is seeking Embedded Systems Design Engineers to implement security related systems as part of a growing team of engineers and scientists in solving Trusted and Assured Microelectronics (T&AM) challenges for the DoD. This individual will perform research into all areas of T&AM while providing mentorship to junior engineers researching the same areas.

This position is contingent upon contract award. Award anticipated 1 October 2021. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Implement, Integrate, and Validate digital hardware data acquisition systems based on FPGA platforms
  • Develop firmware/software for real time signal processing in VHDL, Verilog, and C based designs
  • Plan and implement high performance FPGA designs for high data rate acquisition systems tests
  • Interact with Riverside Research senior engineers along with the USAF customer to translate their requirements into working systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • BS is required
  • 3+ years of direct digital hardware and FPGA design experience
  • Proficiency in FPGA development using current Vendor FPGA EDA tools with VHDL or Verilog for design and simulation
  • Understanding of the principles and theory of modern Cryptography

Desired Qualifications:
  • MS or better (and experience can be a substitute for advance degree requirements)
  • Proficiency in FPGA Embedded Processors software development using C, C, Python scripting is a plus
  • Knowledge of Post Quantum Cryptography a plus
  • Proficiency in Digital Signal Processing algorithm development with Matlab is a plus
  • Experience with the Xilinx UltraScale+ RFSoC Family of products is a plus
