Lawson Valley Day Care is a family owned child care center that has been in operations since 1988. We take pride in giving our children many skills and tools needed not only for kindergarten but also for life. We are located in Woodlawn,Ohio just off Route 4.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Effective oral and written communications skills.

Proof read documents

Meets schedules and times lines

Plan and organize work

Maneuver during recreational activities

Change diapers, create a positive "potty" training environment, and assist all children with bathroom needs.

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with others.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, The Teacher is responsible for the daily operation of the assigned class. Plan, present and evaluate educational and recreational activities of children.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Create daily activities to work with the children on small and large motor skills.

Instruct students. Provide an educational process involving motor skills activities, art, science, math, reading, and social development. Other educational tools may be used.

Assess the social, intellectual, emotional and physical need of children enrolled in the program.

Assess children's learning levels. Monitor progress of each child.

Direct students, volunteers and aides.

Discuss progress of children with parents and respond to expressed concerns of parents.

Maintain inventory of supplies and replenish supplies when necessary.

Attend staff meetings, open houses, orientations or other functions as required. May be required to attend evening and weekend meetings and/or trainings.

Develop lesson plans and calendars.

Prepare classroom for day's activities and clean classroom after class.

Prepare advancement evaluations.

Carry out other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires knowledge of field of assignment and physical ability sufficient to preform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of responsibility as illustrated by the example in this job description.

Two (2) years of experience working with children.

Early Childhood certification or endorsement is preferred but not a must.
