The candidate initiates, implements and schedules the calibration of instruments and devices in the facilities with an emphasis on planning and scheduling calibration through the use of in-house resources and external service providers.A Day in the Life:Provides leadership to assigned staff by performing the following: leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.

Assures the Instrument Calibration Program complies with all regulatory requirements and expectations. Complies with business and regulatory requirements for the retention of maintenance records. Directs instrumentation and electrical personnel in the performance of their duties to assure efficient operation and regulatory compliance.

Responds to regulatory and customer audit questions.

Ensures that established standards, including timeliness and quality are met. Takes direct action to correct deviations and report variances and exceptions and follow-up on corrective action.

Monitors the performance of manufacturing instrumentation to assure a high level of availability and cost-effectiveness.

Negotiates schedules with planners and business units for completion of assigned maintenance and calibration activities. Assures timely and accurate completion of calibration reports.

Works with IT to define and implement enhancements to the services provided for the Computerized Calibration Program. Provides subject matter support for any replacement and migration projects.

Handles shipment and receipt of 3rd party calibrations to meet schedule requirements.

Reviews and approves calibration results. Analyzes data and make recommendations for improving the calibration program. Assists with maintaining and updating Calibration SOPs and other related procedures

EducationBachelor degree desired or High School diploma with a Metrologist certification.ExperienceAt least five years of relevant as Metrologist, Service Engineer or a related field in a GMP's environment.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong knowledge of calibration procedures and techniques, including calibration of temperature probes, pH meters, pressure and vacuum instruments.

Solid understanding of the principles of calibration and document control in a FDA regulated environment.

Knowledge and understanding of chemistry and analytical instrumental technologies.

Advanced in problem solving skills and logical approach to solving scientific problems.

Excellent proficiency skills with HPLC, GC, and UV/Vis spectrophotometers, among others.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills

Effective time management and prioritization skills

Proven excellence in customer service skills and team work oriented

Computer literate (Microsoft Office, SAP, Trackwise, among others).
