- Assist in developing products from conceptual design through production.
- Support prototyping activities and engineering builds during Product development phase
- Contribute to concept identification, selection & development and build 3D solid models from dimensioned sketches and develop mechanisms.
- Create detail drawings, sub-assemblies & layouts from sketches or markups.
- Utilize DFM/A (design for manufacturing & assembly) principles in product design and create final device assemblies & packaging assemblies.
- Use electronic data management system for CAD file management.
- Apply GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance) principles to component design and drawings specifications.
- Establish, check, & document component tolerance analysis and apply device function and component process knowledge in the identification of critical dimensions.
- An Associate's Degree or Technical Certification in CAD, Drafting or related fields
- 3+ years of relevant work experience required
- Solidworks or NX platform 3D modeling experience required
- DFM/A, FMEA (failure mode evaluation & analysis), and tolerance stack-ups preferred
- Design or development of plastics, metals and (electro)mechanical components
- Medical device industry or other regulated environment is highly preferred
- Proactive and self-motivated, able to work with minimal direction
