CBTS is in Search of an Sr. Network Engineer for an urgent Direct Hire opening in the Cincinnati area.

Duties: Production Support Assist with infrastructure designs. Assess a situation and derive the proper plan of corrective action, quickly and decisively. Implementation of technology, network configurations, and network architecture, including hardware and software. Advise coworkers and other IS staff on technologies, specific to network hardware, configurations, and protocols. Develop standards for installation and configuration of network hardware. Coordinates activities in all phases of projects. Assists and trains network systems support, maintenance, operations and other personnel in the use of the network and its service and support requirements. Coordinates and participates in the planning, installation, implementation, certification, operation and maintenance of hardware, software and control elements of the network. Recommends Network operating maintenance, monitor and control techniques, practices and procedures at the network and subsystem level. Technical Build and deploy network switches, routers, firewalls, VPN's, load balancers, SSL accelerators, and management tools. Test and implement software upgrades for all network equipment with aid from the vendor or by reading and understanding release notes. Analyzes and monitors statistics relative to network capacity and performance, and recommends changes to the configuration of the network. Create high-level and detailed network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or other similar software. Create network usage reports for upper management upon request using vendor supplied and 3rd party tools. Analyze network characteristics such as traffic, transmission speeds, packet sizes. Determine causes of operating errors and implements solutions. Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions. Generate or adapt equipment and technology to serve user needs. Monitor and review information from materials, events or the environment to detect or assess problems. Project Management Development and implementation of new and enhanced projects. Identify the appropriate resources needed to complete projects. Communicate between internal and external parties on project-related issues and developments. Develop and manage project plans. Work with cross-functional teams. Consult with end-user community to develop requirements for system solutions. Technologies
  • Experience with Network technologies and platforms: Network protocols and routing for LAN & WAN, SD-WAN, Cisco Nexus,9500,9300,3850 Switches, Cisco ASA, Cisco Wireless, Cisco ISE, VPN tunnels, Load Balancers
Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • Project management and interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, and work effectively as a team player
  • Ability to be organized with a demonstrated aptitude to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Able to balance multiple tasks and projects at one time and utilize time effectively for staff and self

  • Team player mentality and willingness to share knowledge with other team members.

Required Bachelor's degree in related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience 5 years related experience Exp with controller based wireless LAN technology and authentication using client cert.

Preferred
  • Experience analyzing, programming, designing, testing, and implementing computer-based sys in a large organization
  • Cisco wireless experience and/or certification
  • Knowledge of VMware and Server virtualization in large enterprise environment
