Who needs care: Patient has spastic cerebral palsy and spina bifida. He needs help getting up in the morning and some evenings. Patient is an independent adult with normal intelligence.
Services needed: Patient needs help with diaper changes, bathing, dressing, feeding, meal preparation, errands, shopping, housekeeping and some limited mobility assistance. There is no lifting. His spasticity is the most significant barrier to self-care. This patient has a very friendly professionally trained service dog. Applicants must not be afraid of dogs and willing to assist with dog care.
Days and hours needed: Assistance needed from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m, 2 - 3 days per week and one evening per week. Days are flexible and can be arranged around the caregiver’s schedule. MUST be available by 8 a.m. May include some evenings.
Pay: $15-$25 per hour depending on experience, background and interview. Payment is made electronically to caregiver by patient by caregiver.
