Tower Legal is seeking a Paralegal professional with experience in labor and employment law, for a contract position on site with our corporate client in Cincinnati, OH. This position will support the the Human Resources Legal Support attorneys at the Office of General Counsel. Focus will be on labor arbitrations, administrative agency claims, employee benefits and legal research.
Responsibilites include:
Prepare legal documents such as subpoenas, litigation holds, position statements, responses to union requests, arbitration briefs, etc.
Conduct legal research, review legal precedents, draft memoranda, charts and other documents
Assist with preparing witnesses for arbitrations and hearings
Assist outside counsel
Develop and maintain SharePoint site
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate, or at least 7 years of experience with in-house legal department or law firm, and obtaining a Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate within a reasonable amount of time
Demonstrate working knowledge of computer applications, specifically MS Office products
Experience with drafting legal documents
At least 5 years of labor and employment experience preferred
Regulated industry or utility knowledge a plus
eDiscovery knowledge and management
Corporate legal background desired
Notary Public preferred
Duration - 6 month contract position
