Project Scope: Our client has an immediate need for a Network Engineer with the following skills and experience: Responsibilities:- Configure, deploy, and maintain routers, switches, wireless and other network devices
- Works on design, implementation, and support activities for network switches, routers, infrastructure cabling and wireless solutions
- Acts to resolve technical issues including network down, intrusion, and performance. Must consistently demonstrate solid analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Monitors network for potential performance and availability issues
- Prepares required network documentation to aid in troubleshooting, disaster recovery practices, security initiatives, and cross training
- Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation
- Respond to, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate network related incidents and problems
- Keeps current on network technology issues through seminars, publications, and self-education on an ongoing basis
- Direct projects / teams comprised of IT technical experts and business representatives
- Provide Systems Maintenance request and test plans. This includes making recommendations for standards
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent relevant experience
- 4-7 years of supporting and designing enterprise networks and technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with WAN Technologies (VPN, GRE, DMVPN, SD-WAN w/Silver Peak exp. a plus) (Capacity Planning, Design, VLANs)
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 and 3 Protocols including Spanning Tree, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- Experienced in network design and migrations in large enterprise environments, implementing advanced, complex, secure networks including wireless and remote access
- In-depth knowledge and experience in standard Cisco routing/switching systems, (IOS, NX-OS) and protocol operations in an enterprise network
- Cisco Certifications CCNA or higher
- Cisco Wireless knowledge and/or Cisco ISE a plus
- Highly motivated, self-starter, customer centric, and the ability to work without supervision
- Demonstrates flexibility in responding to unexpected demands. Contributes willingly during emergencies and other necessary situations during and/or after regular work hours. This position requires night and weekend work along with on call
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
