Must satisfactorily complete a drug screen and background check JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor: Mixing, Extrusion, and Heat Treat REPORTS TO: Production Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising Operations Associates to ensure all operational goals are achieved for safety, quality, housekeeping, through-put and communication. He/she is also responsible for Operations Associates' performance, training, and adherence to company policies and procedures. The primary areas of responsibility are Extrusion and Heat Treat but will not be limited to those areas. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain all safety requirements for a safe work environment for everyone;
Maintain all housekeeping requirements to sustain a tour-ready area;
Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with Operations Associates in order to listen to issues/concerns and take action;
Responsible for accident/incident investigations and administering the disciplinary process;
Responsible for employee time tracking such as personal time and vacation;
Provide ongoing performance management and recognition in a timely manner;
Ensure individual associate training needs are assessed and completed in a timely manner;
Identify and manage departmental staffing needs including overtime management;
Ownership for mixing, activation and welding areas including safety, staffing, and effectiveness;
Continuously work to improve safety, organization, and efficiency of resources and equipment;
Conduct pre-shift production floor walkaround to accept the condition of the plant from the off-going shifts;
Responsible for hitting daily, monthly and annual numbers for safety, quality, equipment utilization, and inventory management.
Lead efforts among their teams to minimize waste and improve product consistency;
Troubleshoot processes and lead improvements;
Accurately maintain associates time on a weekly basis;
Assist with product development and process changes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field or 5 or more years manufacturing supervisory experience preferred;
Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook applications;
A proven track record of leadership and communication skills in 1:1 and group settings;
Must be willing to take after-hours phone calls and work any shift or weekends in order to meet departmental objectives;
Be in good standings regarding safety, attendance, quality, and overall job performance.
