General Summary: The Information Systems Engineer – MS Office is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Information Systems Engineer – MS Office must fulfill the needs of the Client in a manner which is consistent with the Client’s vision and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works as a senior member of a collaborative team responsible for planning, designing, configuring, coding, testing, debugging, optimizing, supporting, and documenting packaged and cloud-based solutions and/or custom developed software and platforms used by lawyers and staff, including MS Office, Adobe Document Cloud, Metadact-e and various other desktop, cloud, mobile, and server software solutions.Provides thought leadership on emerging technologies to Management and business leaders alike, works with Client and Management to develop multi-year product roadmaps, product portfolios and program strategies; assists with the preparation of realistic budgets, resource allocations, project timelines, and deliverables. Provides mature technical leadership and senior level technical expertise to personnel on assigned platforms; works to improve technical awareness through knowledge sharing, mentors team members through advice, coaching, and collaboration; establishes and imparts on others best practices and standards and engineering methodologies that minimize support and enhance the user experience Makes informed technology recommendations by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives; evaluates purchased software solutions; prepares system requirements and design specifications/documentation; prototypes and conducts tests of custom and third party business solutions Demonstrates and further develops knowledge of Client business processes in order to support and evolve assigned systems and platformsExperienced in department standard programming/scripting languages, Microsoft group policy, database and software development tools, server and network architecture, software performance and security considerations; participates in the evolution of department best practices and policies as related to software development and integration so as to effectively facilitate application integration design and development to meet Client requirements Interfaces with vendors and acts as primary point of contact; communicates functional and technical application requirements, manages deliverables, suggests enhancements, understands configurations, reports software bugs, and identifies interim workarounds; develops and maintains architectural and workflow diagrams for assigned software/platforms; implements purchased software solutions; performs required development and integration tasks; maintains product roadmap oversight Independently leads cross-functional teams to execute projects that support the Client’s technology initiatives; coordinates communications between project team and other Client groups; delegates responsibilities to other team members as appropriate; conducts day-to-day management of staff augmentation resources when required by project teams Leads third level support efforts to diagnose MS Office related and other desktop and practice specific software issues and perform root cause analysis; provides guidance and instructions to first and second level support on the management of known production system problemsAdheres to department standards, including data privacy, security and change management policies Completes projects outside of normal business hours if necessary to meet the Client’s objectives Responsible for independently maintaining and upgrading skills through ongoing training, education, Client sponsored educational events, self-study, and collaboration with peers

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Four-year college degree or advanced MS Office certifications (e.g. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Expert or Master, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Office 365 Minimum of 8 years Applications Engineering experience, reflecting progressive responsibilityAt least three 3 years of experience integrating/configuring MS Office with third party software solutions Experience in a law client, corporate legal environment, or comparable service industry desirable
