JOB DESCRIPTION Under immediate/general supervision of the Technology Support Services (TSS) Support (Office) Regional Manager, the TSS Support (Office) Specialist is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service to clients, producing quality work products, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the TSS Support (Office) Specialist must fulfill the needs of the Office in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s visions and values. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide support for personal computers and peripherals, including but not limited to troubleshooting of defective or inoperable components, diagnosis and eventual replacement of defective components.
  • Assemble, optimize and place personal computers, printers and other computer-related equipment.
  • Enter, update, and close tickets in the Service Desk software system. Tickets are to be maintained in a timely manner, with the goal of updating/closing tickets within one business day of the creation of the ticket.
  • Enter and maintain records in the appropriate Firm TSS system(s) used to track technology assets. Maintain equipment and software inventories and other departmental records.
  • Assist end-users in the proper use of hardware and software.
  • Arrange for equipment maintenance including vendor repairs. Update departmental maintenance records as needed.
OTHER DUTIES (Duties are performed periodically, as necessary):
  • Practical knowledge of office cabling plant. Ability to maintain wiring closest including connecting equipment to patch panels, network switches, PDUs, and servers racks. ability to perform physical maneuvers to accommodate equipment installations, moves etc.
  • Practical knowledge of computer room UPS and HVAC.
  • ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • A highly developed and practical knowledge of personal computer hardware architecture and applications, including operating systems, application software, printers, and other peripherals.
  • The ability to troubleshoot defective personal computer and printer components, and to exchange defective and inoperable components.
  • Knowledge of major personal computer applications, including personal computer operating systems, word processing editors, graphics software, spreadsheet programs and telecommunications software. Add, delete, and modify voice over IP (VoIP).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Proficiency on office equipment used on a regular basis including computers, printers, MFDs, copy machines, fax machines and telephones.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through completion.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
  • Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform clerical tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people in a team setting.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships within the department, Office and Firm.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, vendors and others outside the Firm.

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in computer-related field.
  • Experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred.
