This position is designated Remote. It is preferred selected candidate reside in Columbus, OH however, will consider residing in one of AEP's already established 11 state locations to adhere to t

ax, benefit, and

local employment laws. (AEP is not located in the entire state in most circumstances,

WV, VA, TN, AR, KY, TX, OH, IN, MI, OK, LA) .

POSITION SUMMARY: MRO Support provides system administration and support enabling efficient and effective Meter and Revenue Operations for our Operating Companies. We are responsible for meter head-end systems such as Landis + Gyr Command Center, Itron Utility IQ, Clevest Fieldnet, and other meter data systems such as Oracle's Meter Data Management System and Meter Asset Management Systems. We drive key strategic initiatives that enhance and improve performance of our systems and business processes, enabling AEP to adapt to rapidly changing meter technology.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position will be a senior member of our team responsible for supporting accurate and timely meter data and operational metrics for the following Business Processes: Billing, Meter Asset Management and Financial Reporting, Regulatory obligations, Revenue protection activities, and Mass Meter Installations.We are looking for this individual to become an Operational Data Insights Leader on our team, focused on:
  • Operational reporting including the definition, development and support of reports, KPIs and metrics
  • Support of complex, high volume data queries and analysis
  • Visioning, creation and support of Operational Dashboards
  • Ad-hoc and Regulatory reporting data requests
  • Collaborate with our Operating Company customers, Customer Operations peers and IT partners driving for continuous improvement.
  • Root cause analysis, investigation and support of meter data related issues
  • Conducts end-user training, and takes the lead on projects of moderate complexity.

Other Job Functions and Tasks:
  • This particular role will be specifically focused on improving our capabilities to more efficiently and effectively track and manage Meter Revenue Support operations.
  • Develop and support Operational reporting including the definition, development and support of reports, KPIs and metrics.
  • Development and Support of complex, high volume data queries and analysis.
  • Visioning, creation and support of Operational Dashboards.
  • Own and execute Ad-hoc and Regulatory reporting data requests.
  • Collaborate with our Operating Company customers, Customer Operations peers and IT partners driving for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct Root cause analysis, investigation and support of meter data related issues.
  • Conduct end-user training.
  • Lead projects of moderate complexity.
  • Provide training and guidance to lower-level team members.
  • Prioritize and track requests and issues from MRO organizations.
  • Generate moderately complex reports.
  • Identify the need for and create documentation to support daily responsibilities or end-user training.
  • Participate in the definition, creation, and implementation of business processes (such as billing, meter asset management and financial reporting, regulatory obligations, revenue protection activities, and mass meter installations) or systems enhancements.
  • Actively participate in team culture initiatives, teambuilding, and future of work
  • Must haves:
    • Demonstrates initiative and a questioning mindset
    • Advanced competency in PC skills such as Microsoft Office and AEP applications and software.
    • Advanced proficiency in querying languages (SQL, QMF) and MS Excel, MSAccess are a must
    • Reporting tool experience such as Cognos, PowerBI, etc.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    MRO Business Analyst Senior (grade 7) Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business, IT or related field such as Engineering or Computer Technology,

    OR High School Diploma or GED and two (2) year's of related experience.

    Minimum of ten (10) years' of related experience in addition to any years of experience noted above.

    MRO Business Analyst Principal (grade 8) Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business, IT or related field such as Engineering or Computer Technology,

    OR High School Diploma or GED and two (2) year's of related experience.

    Minimum of twelve (12) years' of related experience in addition to any years of experience noted above.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:1) Travel may be required. 2) Excels in verbal and written communication skills. 3) Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills for self and assists others. 4) Demonstrates behavior aligned with AEP Values (Zero Harm, Integrity and Stewardship, Adapt and Achieve, Customer Focus) 5) Demonstrates initiative and a questioning mindset. 6) Advanced competency in PC skills such as Microsoft Office and AEP applications and software. 7) Advanced proficiency in querying languages (SQL, QMF) MS Excel and MS Access a plus.
