Remote to start and local candidates preferred since this will move to onsite (some training may be onsite as well)Scrum Master - IT ApplicationsPOSITION SUMMARYThe Scrum Master is an individual contributor position supporting the Victoria's Secret Digital Platform to assure that each of our Product Teams live by the principles, values, and practices of Agile. We are looking for a candidate who is well versed in conducting Scrum ceremonies, developing and tracking metrics, and working with all software development functional groups (Product Management, Development, UX, Testing, etc.). The ideal candidate will have the experience and ability to coach our Product Teams and help implement and optimize Agile best practices and continuously improve the way we develop and deliver enhancements to customers. A successful candidate will be able to leverage their expertise in product development to help define and optimize the end-to-end process for building Victoria's Secret digital products connecting long-term strategy to day-to-day execution.RESPONSIBILITIES• Remove internal roadblocks that prevent Product Teams from reaching their full velocity and escalate external blockers to Platform Leadership and key stakeholders• Facilitate sprint planning and retrospective activities• Assist Product Owners in coaching them how to keep their backlogs appropriately groomed• Work with Product Team leadership to establish best practices for team scrums and Scrum of Scrum activities• Demonstrate an understanding of Agile practices and proactively seek opportunities to evolve them• Experiment with and integrate processes and tools that encourage continuous improvement• Develop a deep understanding of each Product Team and their role within the Digital Platform ecosystem• Emphasize code quality through small, focused user stories; assist teams with a hands-on servant leader approach from inception to delivery of work• Maintain relevant metrics and monitor team throughput and velocity, driving performance and continuous improvement• Assist product teams in setting up scrum boards and dashboards, and showing them how to use them; reconfigure and optimize as needed• Assist with Digital Platform sprint and quarterly planning ceremonies as needed• Extract data from Jira or similar systems to create reports for Product Teams and management related to feature releases, defects, etc.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS• Working familiarity with both Scrum and Kanban• Experience leading teams developing software with Agile or related methodologies• Well versed in conducting Scrum ceremonies, methods of story estimation, and velocity measurement• Ability to learn and implement evolving Agile strategies, tools, and tactics• Ability to train and mentor employees, including peers, on Agile and Scrum best practices• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and manage competing priorities• Fluent in Excel, able to create reports to visualize and interpret dataEXPERIENCE• Bachelor's degree and scrum master certification required• 2+ years relevant professional experience or technology project management experience with a digital commerce focus• 2+ years in an agile environment as Scrum Master/Agile coach• Proficiency with User Stories, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Pairing, and Automated Testing• Professional experience in direct retail, e-commerce, or consulting environment preferred• Must be able to demonstrate deep-working knowledge of key Agile and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence to help configure, support end users, create dashboards, templates, etc.Additional Q&A:• What are the top 3 skills that are the most important for this role? o o 2+ years working as a Scrum Master in a company where there is coordination across multiple product teamso o Experience supporting a "customer facing" application / software (retail and e-commerce is a plus)o o Experience using Jira and Confluence, and knowledge on setting up scrum boards, dashboards, filters, templates, etc.o o These scrum masters will be helping several of these product teamso o Retail / e-commerce experienceo o Project management experience or product management (being a product owner) experienceo o Working directly with software development functions - developers, designers, testers, UX, etc.o o Working directly with business stakeholders to understand, document, explain and negotiate requirements
