RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce is hiring a Security Engineer for a Remote Contract Opportunity in Columbus, OH.
Summary:The Security Engineer will implement and maintain cyber security detections and automation solutions for the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC). Understanding of security information and event management (SIEM) technologies, event log collection across various devices, experience with Splunk and SPL syntax with additional knowledge of Microsoft Azure Security Center is preferred. Demonstrate understanding and appropriate application of NIST and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks and have understanding of Windows/Linux systems administration, general operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, and network security concepts is required and familiarity with common languages (PowerShell and Python).Responsibilities of the Security Engineer: The Security Engineer will be applying threat and data modeling, advanced data correlation, and statistical analysis to develop alerts, notable events, investigative dashboards, and metrics driven reports Assist in the development and execution of cyber threat-hunting tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Translate analytical findings into security -use cases- Analyze network and host activity The Security Engineer will support enterprise incident response efforts As the Security Engineer, you will leverage understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures associated with advanced threats to create and add custom signatures that mitigate highly dynamic threats to the enterprise Employ forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction and intelligence gathering Proactively research emerging cyber threats; Apply analytical understanding of attacker methodologies and tactics, system vulnerabilities, and key indicators of attacks and exploitsREQUIREMENTS: Python and PowerShell scripting experience Windows/Linux experienceKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
