Sr. Linux Server AdminLocation: Columbus, OH (100% onsite)Duration: 3 months (client prefers contract to hire)
Job Description:Oxford client in manufacturing needs a Sr. Linux Server Admin to replace an FTE. This position is responsible for the provisioning, configuring, and supporting server and storage infrastructure across all client locations. This includes virtualization platforms, physical servers, storage systems, cloud services, system monitoring, system backups, and disaster recovery.Responsibilities: Install and configure physical server and storage hardware in company owned and co-lo data centersBuild, update, and manage multiple global VMware vSphere clustersProvision on-premises and cloud-based servers and servicesPerform capacity monitoring of server infrastructureMonitor availability and performance of data center environmental equipment, physical/virtual servers, and storage systemsMaintain security of server infrastructure, both physical and virtual, through active patching and upgrades of operating system, software, and firmwareMonitor backup execution and correct any failures in the backup processes for servers, databases, and unstructured dataPerform system and data restores as requiredDevelop and maintain disaster recovery plans for critical business applicationsParticipate in periodic disaster recovery tests for on-premises and cloud resourcesDevelop standards for infrastructure processes, procedures, and hardwareProvide support and guidance for other technical teams within the organizationDiagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure related issues as they ariseCreate and maintain technical documentationMust have:Sr. Linux Server Administration experience – client has Redhat, CentOS, UbuntuVMware vSphere, eSXStorage experience – client has Dell/EMC PowerStore & VNX, IBM XIV, and VMware vSANCloud experience – client has Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud (OCI)Disaster recovery/backup experience – client has Quest Backup & Recovery Suite (vRanger, Netvault, and QoreStor) and Zerto ReplicationNice to have:Windows Server AdministrationHP-UXVacancy expired!
