ABOUT THE ZEST KITCHEN
Our kitchen is different from a standard restaurant kitchen! Each day we prep and prepare all of the produce that we use to create our cold pressed juices that are sold at our 5 store locations. This position involves the washing and weighing of fruits and vegetables and use of various juicing equipment. All team members work together to juice, blend, and bottle our product by hand which requires a strong attention to detail and basic recipe comprehension.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES¦
Establish an operational plan for each work day and clearly communicate it to all team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Supervise all kitchen staff throughout the day to ensure the satisfactory completion of all tasks and responsibilities
Provide positive and constructive feedback to all team members to maintain consistent production and exemplary performance
Complete periodic checks to verify quality control as well as cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
Responsible for managing the schedules of the kitchen staff
Train all new staff members on policies, procedures and tasks
Ability to effectively communicate with Zest store managers to ensure that all final product needs are met to support real-time demand needs
Take ownership of ordering related to the kitchen and produce ordering for the company while proactively looking for opportunities to reduce spending when possible
Responsible for counting and maintaining proper inventory levels
Manage and limit the waste/expiration of raw good, maximizing product efficiency
GENERAL TEAM MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Understanding of proper food safety and sanitation procedures
Must be able to work at a fast pace for an extended period of time, understanding the need for working in a constant, efficient manner
Ability to reference and accurately follow preparation and production sheets with a mind towards reducing waste
Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
Follow established procedures for cleaning, preparing, storing, producing, and packaging of product
Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
Knowledge of proper knife-handling
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all team members and store managers
Occasionally deliver product to area restaurant locations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend, stoop, twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders, and squat. The ability to lift loads not to exceed 60 pounds and strength to push and pull carts up to 100 pounds. Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation also required.
