Sr. Network EngineerLocation: Columbus, OH (100% onsite)Duration: 3 months contract to hire
Job Description:Oxford client in manufacturing needs a Sr. Network Engineer to replace an FTE. This resource would be responsible for the support of the WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN services for 220 global locations in over 40 different countries. This position is expected to participate in network design, project implementations, and operational support of all network services in support of the network infrastructure for the company’s Digital Solutions Group. This position works with other IT professionals and end users across all levels of the organization. 3rd level support to resolve Infrastructure related problems and issues, and the ability to effectively communicate with key vendors that provide network services to the client is also required.Responsibilities:Provide 7X24 support for WAN, LAN, Wireless, and related technologyEnsure all IT network services are designed and configured to achieve maximum uptimeEnsure all IT network services are monitored, backed up, secured, and documentedPerform regular maintenance on all systems to ensure vulnerabilities are patched and systems securePrepare and test disaster recovery plans for critical network servicesEnsure all services are appropriately sized to support the business needs (capacity management)Research and evaluate new network technologies to improve available features and meet the changing business needsInstallation and management of network end points and softwareProvide end user documentation and trainingResolution of tickets placed assigned to the Network Services technical teamWork with key vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5 to fix any issues that cannot be solved internallyResponsible for entering change management tickets in ServiceNow and attending Global Change Management Advisory Board meetings to present network changesEnsure project work and changes are successfully planned, implemented, and testedStandardize Infrastructure processes, procedures, and equipment for all supported systemsSupport and build B2B tunnels to third party suppliers and vendorsSupport of F5 Load Balancer system upgrades and patchesSupport of F5 Load Balancer system configuration and support issuesParticipate in Corporate technical working groups as neededEnsure all network services comply with Client’s Architecture standardsEnsure all network services comply with Client’s Security standardsAny additional responsibilities assignedMust have:Enterprise-level experience supporting Cisco networking, wireless, and related technologiesAdvanced knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Wireless technologiesExpertise in Cisco technologies and IOSStrong troubleshooting, communication, and technical skillsMinimum education required is an Associate’s degree in a technology fieldCCNAContract to hireNice to have:CCNPCisco Viptela or SD-WAN experienceExperience with F5 Load Balancers and Palo Alto firewallsCisco ISECisco DNA CenterVacancy expired!
