Role: Desktop Engineer Location: Columbus, OH Job type: Contract Duration: Long-term Job Description: This role will be responsible for working directly with our customers providing OS image development services using leading OS image development & deployment technologies (MDT, SCCM) & also work closely on the automations & application packaging & the lifecycle. Role Overview:

  • 9+ years Experience with enterprise-scale Windows Operating System (image creation windows 10 / server 2019) and distribution (image deployment) expertise including Configuration management of endpoints (not just familiarity advanced proficiency needed as this is primary function)
  • Advanced-level scripting experience on windows platform (Powershell scripting/automation practices)
  • Application packaging and/or hardware abstraction experience for integration on mass scale include use and integration of enterprise peripheral USB attached devices
  • MUST have demonstrated application of SDLC/development knowledge using modern methods (code creation/unit testing/version control)
  • Provide 4th level problem resolution for issues.
  • Must have skills to troubleshoot complex issues related to Environment, Simulate Scenarios to reproduce the error/ problem and provide solutions in complex situation.
Technical Skills and Experiences:
  • Proficiency in Design, Build, Deploy & Manage Windows client operating systems SOE Image (Win 10), components and tools, such as Windows registry, drivers, Sysprep, System Image Manager, WinPE, OS Activation, policies, WAIK, MDT, SCCM OSD, etc.
  • Advanced experience of unattended OS installations (Microsoft SCCM OSD & MDT technologies)
  • Command line tools, utilities, and scripting including creation and debugging of scripts (VBScript, Powershell, etc.), WMI objects and batch files.
  • Exclusive Automations using Powershell scripting
  • Development Knowledge with SDLC concepts
  • User profile management through policies / registry changes
  • Experience with application packaging tools and related installation formats, such as MSI, Install Shield and Wise Installer
  • Windows Server experience a plus.
Non-technical Skills and Experiences
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Provide technical writing of documentation for the engineered solutions that are developed for Workstation builds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Customer handling capability. Leadership skills are Added advantage.
