Quality Engineer

Job Description:

CNC Machinist, 2nd Shift

Qualification:

1. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, and set up procedures.

2. Must be able to set up, operate and run programs.

3. Must be able to perform in-process checks and offsets.

4. Must be able to select, install and change cutting tools.

5. Conduct simple manual edits to adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.

6. Must be able to conduct dimensional and visual inspections of quality control systems for specifications and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3+ years of CNC Lathe Machine experience

2. Minimum High School Diploma or GED

3. Knowledgeable of GD&T

4. Able to read and interpret complex drawings

5. Able and skilled in setting up and troubleshooting

6. Preferred but not required: Journey level machinist certification, NMS certification, Top Gun certification

7. Must meet all safety, quality and productivity standards

Work Schedule:

Full time: Monday “ Thursday

Hours: 4pm “ 2am, overtime available

CMM PROGRAMMER/INSPECTOR

Experience in product inspection to determine compliance with specifications, both dimensional and visual; GCEs quality control system for compliance with requirements for conformity to specified standards.

Should have experience in stamps mark of approval or rejection on the product and write a report of examination or signs off on the product.

Experience in running, operating and program CMMs, recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process

Must be able to assist in the control of the nonconforming product, help in continuous improvement activities and follow inspection and control plans to ensure product quality.

Must be able to coordinate data files and quality records in accordance with the GCEs quality control system and prepared backup CMM accessories probes, extensions and all phases of CMM hardware.

Competencies

Must be detail-oriented

Must possess excellent communication skills both written and visual.

Must have a strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry

Must understand and apply ASME Y14.5M GD&T

Calypso experience a plus

Mcosmos experience a plus

Physical Demands

The employee should be able to comfortably handle up to 40 pounds.

There can be times when the employee will be on their feet most of the day.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7AM “ 4PM.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED

Preferred Education and Experience

Associates degree in Engineering Technology or greater

Certified Mechanical Inspector status through ASQ

QUALITY ENGINEER

The Quality Engineer is responsible for the engineering and manufacturing processes in the organization. Strong focus on detail and excellence in compliance regulations, audits and continuous improvement on product quality and process is a must. Experience in risk management, validation of process the implantation is required. An important part of the job involves designing the company's quality standards and testing processes to achieve excellence in quality standards.

Functions

Responsible for internal audits, supplier qualification.

Generate quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.

Proficient in SPC- statistical process control and statistical software MiniTab.

Analyzes data to develop the process for normal distribution and can conduct analysis tests.

Wil make recommendation and prepare complete data reports from data collected and analyzed.

Oversees complaint file management, complaint trending and analysis.

Performs process validation planning and execution, revalidation assessments.

facilitate in equipment management, calibration and maintenance.

Oversees the manufacturing and quality system indicators such as scrap or spc to improve performance.

Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.

Performs root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action planning, execution, and verification.

Plans and participates in cost of quality reduction projects.

Develops quality plans as required by customer requirements

Will use measuring instruments, coordinate measuring machines and other quality tools and instruments

Required Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent related job experience. Advance technical or management degree a plus.

1. At least three years of experience as a quality engineer. Working knowledge of blueprint reading and GD &T, statistical methods, SPC, Control Plans, and Problem-solving methods, such as 5why and 8-D.

2. At least five years of previous job-related experience in customized automation or robotics and/or precision machining.

3. Working within and or establishing quality systems such as AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485 etc

4. Experience working in a precision machining, fabrication and assembly environment.

5. Preferred Education and Experience

6. Certified Quality Engineer and/or Six Sigma belt certifications are a plus.
