FMS Systems Engineer Senior (WPAFB-21-0077-W) Bowhead seeks a FMS Systems Engineer Senior to join our team at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. This position supports MQ-9 FMS Development and Production program. The candidate will serve as an Engineer supporting multi-specialty teams to achieve results specified by program leadership in aircraft research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities; provide technical assistance as required to resolve system engineering and maintenance concerns; monitor aircraft & component Contractor-generated technical data, technical manuals, and engineering changes for technical accuracy and adequacy; and perform other typical engineering related program office functions. Responsible for engineering support to oversee and manage investigations and analysis of LOA related aerospace systems. Prepare comprehensive reports dealing with such factors as airworthiness, static strength, service life, major repairs, economic feasibility and impact, and technical adequacy of proposals. Provide recommendations with supporting rationale to resolve technical issues. Performs, directs, analyzes, and oversees aeronautical and/or mechanical design and redesign efforts. Supports USG-internal meetings, Case, Financial, and Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and annual case reviews. Countries require extensive documentation (more than 700+) to obtain an airworthiness certification in their country for this system. An aerospace engineer will provide insight and oversight to program development as well as help with expediting the required USAF data that will be required to go through FDO before being released to the OEM and/or the country. There is a critical and urgent need for engineering support to expedite the required technical data and efforts to deliver the aircraft requested by the country. Requirements Functionally Aligned Minimum Recommended Education and Experience: • Advanced Degree (Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Science (MS) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD • In lieu of Advanced Degree - BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD • In lieu of BA/BS - 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, eight of which must be in the DoD. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must have an active security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
