Job Description

The Sales Representative, Distributors/Corporate Accounts will manage the strategic development and tactical execution of new B2B sales opportunities in the United States to profitably drive incremental revenue growth. This role is primarily responsible for identifying and securing qualified new corporate accounts and business partners by leveraging the portfolio of current DDC products and contract lab services. The. Sales Representative must successfully collaborate with the DDC Corporate Accounts team to facilitate the set up of new distributors and ensure ongoing support to maintain and build the account. The successful candidate must bring a high level of ethical, intellectual, professional and personal values that complement the team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

US Distributor Channel

  • Increase sales by securing new qualified distributors for proven DDC products
  • Reactivate lapsed distributor accounts (defined as no cases signed out in the prior 6 months)
  • Ensure new accounts are successfully on-boarded and monitor performance during first 24 months in collaboration with Corporate Accounts team
  • Develop a sales strategy and generate a leads pipeline to penetrate new account types for DDC products and services
  • Assume day to day management of white label partners from VP Marketing after successful roll-out following pilot test phase
  • Must have a complete working knowledge of products and services, pricing and profitability, and level of effort to establish, build and reactivate corporate accounts
  • New Business Opportunities
  • Partner with the Chief Science Officer to evaluate and build on new business opportunities that leverage DDC’s products, services and capabilities (e.g., Precision Ethnicity for Mayo Clinic); present go/no go recommendations to Leadership Team
  • Partner with VP Fertility to identify and evaluate new practitioner opportunities for DDC fertility products and services
  • Develop and execute a strategy to grow DDC’s contract lab services leveraging existing logistics, equipment and capabilities

Business, Market and Competitive Research

  • On-going benchmarking of sales best practices in DNA testing and fertility
  • Develop new business ideas and contacts
  • Monitor competitors and market trends

Analytics

  • Health of sales pipeline and conversion rates
  • Measure performance of new accounts
  • Monitor account and product trends

Support Strategic Planning Process

  • Collaborate with VP Business Development on strategic plan for the US market
  • Help identify and assess internal capabilities, products and services that could be monetized and are worthy of sales effort
  • Identify potential future acquisition targets while performing day to day sales function

Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience
  • 15+ years of combined work experience in Sales, Sales Management and Business Development
  • Track record of taking on sales roles of increasing responsibility and driving profitable topline sales growth
  • Ability to develop a coherent sales strategy, gain approval from senior management, and execute the sales plan on-time and on-budget
  • A self-motivated, enthusiastic contributor with the ability to collaborate with others defined as supervisor, peers, cross-functional team members, external business partners and industry thought leaders
  • Team player with exceptional work ethic, strong sales intuition, incredible attention to detail and proactive/action-oriented mindset who also possesses sharp business instincts to improve topline sales results and profitability
  • Strong, decisive and action-oriented leadership style while being respectful of others; ability to make, communicate and take accountability for timely decisions
  • Understands the big picture and long-term goals in conjunction with the ongoing business needs while putting the interests of customers and the organization first
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel including pivot tables, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn a new CRM platform
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in branded consumer products and/or pharmaceutical/healthcare is a plus
