You'll get to:- Utilize Lean Manufacturing Tools to drivecontinuous improvement projects associated with the manufacturing process and tooling design.
- Support Cost estimating and new product development
- Communicate with various departments to assure documents are complete and in compliance with quality mgmt. system.
- Work with SBD industry 4.0to improve processes and productivity. Develops proof of concept and then scales up to production levels locally and cross plant.
- Implement long term engineering solutions to prevent downtime and support the company's KPI's.
- Contribute to site capital investment projects
- Propose improvements in components and run strategies for lower manufacturing cost.
- Improves workflow by studying process flowcharts, recommending modifications in workflow, workstations and product and developing new procedures.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- A 4-year Engineering degree is required. A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of related manufacturing experience is required
- Experience with SPC, Lean Manufacturing, MRP and TPM is required
- Computer skills including MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Proven record of cost reduction within a manufacturing facility
- Strong desire to take ownership and drive results
- Ability to work off-shift schedule as needed for as needed for projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to write technical reports
- Understanding of Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, Kanban and TPM
