This Position is at the Ferry Cap and Set Screw Company located in Lakewood, OH.Ferry Cap and Set Screw has been providing its customers with the highest quality specialty fasteners for over 100 years.What You'll Do- The Tooling Engineer will be designing dies for manufacturing cold headed and hot forged components using single hit forging and progressive heading processes.
- This role will support manufacturing, production and sales on new product development as well as identifying process improvements for current product lines.
- Oversee the quoting on tooling for new products and replacement tooling, regarding price, delivery, specifications as well as evaluation and selection of outside vendors.
- Organizes and maintains tooling records.
- Provides technical support for Product & Quality Engineers, Sales, and Manufacturing in identifying and resolving tooling and/or dimensional issues
- Continuous Improvement of manufacturing processes
- Design of engineering controls for quality and safety
- Evaluation and interpretation of customer/industry specifications
- Machine/Part troubleshooting
- Specification of new machines and equipment
- B.S. degree in Engineering required.
- 5+years' experience in Engineering or Operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- High level of competence in CAD
- Mechanically inclined.
- Excellent computer and communication skills
- Knowledge of materials, heat treating and plating (preferred, but not required).
- Experience in fasteners and cold formed parts (preferred, but not required).
