I helped John for 3 years during undergrad and I am now a Physician Assistant student and could not give high enough praise for this job. It helped me become the best PA applicant through the unique skill sets I gained, and great advice that I was endowed with each day. This job provides so much more than healthcare experience and you will gain a lifelong friend.

This job as a home health aid will be an exceptional opportunity for any student going into the healthcare field. The patient, John, has muscular dystrophy and as a result is wheelchair bound. Although this has not stopped him from achieving noteworthy leadership roles in the workforce. He currently runs his own career coaching and leadership development company where he meets with many top business executives across the central Ohio area to help them achieve their goals.

John has had many aids over the years that have gone to become Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Once you learn the routine, the job is super laid back. John is a very intelligent and kind man who will keep you more than entertained each morning with interesting stories and topics that will keep you thinking! It is also very flexible with school schedules, since the job is only about an hour and half a few mornings each week you will be able to easily stay on top of your studies while making a great wage.

The best part of this job is being able to create a friendship during the short mornings while helping make the morning routine as normal as it could be for someone with a disability.

I enjoyed our various conversations about almost anything, especially sports. He helped me think bigger picture for the future by trying to help me put together a resume and job search strategy when I was contemplating looking for a new full-time job.

John is easy to talk with and pass the time during the shift by making it seem like hanging out and not necessarily a job. When my full-time job schedule changed or I was going on vacation, he worked with other helpers for coverage.

This 3-year friendship job, began because I enjoy caring for others and noticed the position posted on my church's bulletin board. My personal care background is 12 plus years working with personal care of both muscular dystrophy clients and one client with dementia. The training was effective and I caught on quickly especially with my previous experience.

You will enjoy working with John.
