DIRECT HIRE - CNC Programmer Kelly Engineering is currently seeking a CNC Programmer for a DIRECT HIRE role at one of our medical equipment manufacturing clients in their Mason, OH location.

SUMMARY Use CAD/CAM Software (Mastercam) to create programs to machine parts. Apply knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures Determine and establish overall manufacturing requirements for items such as but not limited to machinery, equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods and processes, and routings Establish feeds, speeds, cycle times and other operating parameters for all type of CNC equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Design machining fixturing for Horizontal Machine Center (HMC)
  • Create CNC programs to make component parts for machining fixtures
  • Create and maintain CNC programs for production parts
  • Works with Manufacturing to resolve tooling and process problems.
  • Assists with planning & prioritization of operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Make tooling off-sets and dimensional adjustments at the machine control
  • Create and maintain CNC set-up documents
  • Design special tools as needed
  • Understands gauge and CMM readings
  • Maintain part fixture and gauge quality
  • Improving production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding to the status of orders.
  • Works overtime, including weekends, as required by workload.
  • Responsible for meeting department and company productivity goals.
  • Assists Supervisor of Manufacturing, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as needed and assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field of study (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering) or Certificate or associate degree in CNC Machining Technology or Programming
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC fabrication, programming, and set-up in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Makino A51 preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Mastercam CAD/CAM software
  • Know and understand the principles of LEAN manufacturing (Six Sigma/Lean Certification Preferred)
  • Documented formal process improvement experience Ability to read and understand standard ISO drawings
  • Proficient using modeling software. (AutoCAD)
  • Strong analytical abilities, written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret dimensional inspection reports
  • Ability to collaborate with coworkers, shop personnel, and outside vendors Preferred machine experience
    • Experience with Makino Pro 6 controllers
    • Experience with Makino MAS-A5 Automated Cell Control Software
    • Experience with Makino MMC2 Automated Material Handling System
    • Experience with Zoeller Pre-setter and Tool Management Software
    • Experience with Bilz Shrink Fit Systems
    • Experience with Fadal controllers
    • Experience with Haas controllers
