Senior Director, Global Operations Finance

Job Description

Fortune Brands Global Plumbing Group (GPG) has an opening for a Senior Director, Global Operations Finance.

• Lead and manage GPG global operations finance with responsibility for more than $1BN of cost across [20] global sites dividing time among these roughly as follows:
  • Provide business decision support to global operations leadership team inclusive of the following functions: manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, and quality 60%
  • Lead monthly close, forecast, and planning for global operations 20% to 30%
  • Ad hoc support for M&A and other finance requests as required 10% to 20%
• Partner with the Global Operations Leadership team to develop robust operating and financial strategies enabled by an effective planning, measurement, monitoring and decision-support
• Identify improvements to operating fundamentals and processes and participate in implementing agreed upon solutions – drive a culture of continuous improvement
• Partner with business units and global functions to increase productivity gains, control costs, ensure robust capital investment and deployment
• Lead annual planning process for operations and be a key business partner during strategic planning
• Drive best-in-class operations planning processes, measurement systems, analytics, and reporting
• Ensure proper valuation of inventory, including current and frozen standard costs, excess and obsolete reserves, and variance capitalization
• Lead and develop global operations Finance team consisting of 31 people including seven direct reports in both U.S. and China
• Ensure adherence to GPG policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in a quantitative discipline: Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Science, etc.). MBA degree is preferred (concentration in Finance or Accounting is preferred).
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience with deep experience in manufacturing/distribution operations environments with complex supply chains
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated success as a strategic business partner
• Track record of process leadership and process improvement
• Standard costing leadership
• Skilled in building valued partnerships with stakeholders, influencing senior leaders, applying emotional intelligence and assessing talent.
• Track record of hiring, developing, and coaching high performing teams
• Presenting at senior levels (business unit president or CEO & CFO)
• Acquisition integration experience
• Experience with IT systems and managerial reporting tools (SAP, BPC, QlikView, etc.)
• Strong and confident communication skills are required (oral and written)
• Strong analytical skills
• Able to travel approximately 20%-25%, including international
