Job Description

As‌ ‌a‌ ‌Process‌ ‌Engineer,‌ ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌responsible‌ ‌for‌ ‌reducing‌ ‌product‌ ‌and‌ ‌process‌ ‌variation‌‌

through‌ ‌the‌ ‌use‌ ‌of‌ ‌Six‌ ‌Sigma‌ ‌/‌ ‌statistical‌ ‌tools‌ ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌implementation‌ ‌or‌ ‌improvement‌ ‌of‌‌

existing‌ ‌procedures‌ ‌and‌ ‌process‌ ‌controls.‌ ‌In‌ ‌this‌ ‌critical‌ ‌role,‌ ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌also‌ ‌be‌ ‌responsible‌ ‌for:‌‌

●Support‌ ‌day‌ ‌to‌ ‌day‌ ‌product‌ ‌and‌ ‌process‌ ‌operations‌ ‌on‌ ‌extrusion/casting‌ ‌assets‌‌

●Be‌ ‌a‌ ‌business‌ ‌partner‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌site‌ ‌leadership‌ ‌team‌‌

●Identify‌ ‌&‌ ‌analyze‌ ‌production‌ ‌problems‌ ‌using‌ ‌Six‌ ‌Sigma‌ ‌methodologies‌ ‌to‌ ‌control‌ ‌&‌‌

improve‌ ‌manufacturing‌ ‌processes.‌‌

●Loss‌ ‌reduction‌ ‌&‌ ‌continuous‌ ‌improvement‌ ‌in‌ ‌Extrusion‌ ‌line‌ ‌productivity‌ ‌&‌ ‌product‌‌

quality‌ ‌through‌ ‌the‌ ‌use‌ ‌of‌ ‌problem‌ ‌solving,‌ ‌Six‌ ‌Sigma‌ ‌&‌ ‌project‌ ‌management‌ ‌skills.‌‌

●Continually‌ ‌improve‌ ‌&‌ ‌optimize‌ ‌current‌ ‌products‌ ‌through‌ ‌variation‌ ‌reduction.‌‌

●Provide‌ ‌support‌ ‌for‌ ‌new‌ ‌product‌ ‌development‌ ‌and‌ ‌material‌ ‌changes‌ ‌as‌ ‌they‌ ‌arise‌ ‌by‌‌

interacting‌ ‌with‌ ‌and‌ ‌being‌ ‌a‌ ‌member‌ ‌of‌ ‌Marketing‌ ‌and‌ ‌R&D‌ ‌teams.‌‌

●Develop‌ ‌control‌ ‌strategies‌ ‌for‌ ‌sustaining‌ ‌all‌ ‌continuous‌ ‌improvement‌ ‌projects.‌‌

●Initiate,‌ ‌manage‌ ‌&‌ ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌safety,‌ ‌quality,‌ ‌cost‌ ‌&‌ ‌process‌ ‌improvement‌ ‌projects.‌‌

●Provide‌ ‌ongoing‌ ‌process‌ ‌evaluation—including‌ ‌trials‌ ‌&‌ ‌capability‌ ‌studies.‌‌

●Implementation‌ ‌of‌ ‌new‌ ‌equipment‌ ‌&‌ ‌operating‌ ‌procedures.‌‌

●Mentoring‌ ‌other‌ ‌process‌ ‌engineers‌ ‌and‌ ‌operations‌ ‌personnel.‌‌

●Developing‌ ‌and‌ ‌implementing‌ ‌technical‌ ‌training.‌‌

●Scoping‌ ‌and‌ ‌executing‌ ‌capital‌ ‌projects‌‌

●Participating,‌ ‌leading‌ ‌and‌ ‌sponsoring‌ ‌various‌ ‌task‌ ‌teams.‌‌

●Assisting‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌development‌ ‌of‌ ‌long-term‌ ‌strategies.‌‌

Qualifications

What we will be looking for in you:

Essential:

  • Experience with statistical analysis, statistical process controls, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and MSE.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and project engineering.

  • Ability to develop, implement, monitor, measure, and control functional improvement plans.

  • Problem solving, decision analysis, situation appraisal skills.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate and develop influential relationships at multiple levels within an organization, and lead in a positive and collaborative manner

  • Ability to influence others.

  • Approachable, effective in giving/receiving feedback.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Strong PC skills – MS Office, Lotus Notes, MINITAB, AutoCAD, QSI and QIS experience a plus.

  • Previous ISO 9001-2000 experience with implementation, improvement, and sustainment.

  • Previous Six Sigma exposure/experience. Green Belt / Black Belt certification a plus.

  • 0-2 years of industry experience

  • Flexibility on work hours (on call after hours/weekend as needed)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Controls, instrumentation, PLC knowledge also a plus.

  • Previous experience with PSA / web based processes.

  • Web handling experience

Education:

  • BS Degree in mechanical or Industrial engineering required.
