NO C2C / NO SPONSORSHIPCBTS is currently searching for a HPUX systems engineer to support our client. This HPUX environment supports their existing ERP databases and application environment. They are in the process of moving to JDE One so this infrastructure will ultimately go away. They need to hire someone for this role but this resource may not be busy 40 hours per week. This role is a 6 month contract to hire. Candidates willing to work onsite/relocate to Stowe, OH (Between Akron and Cleveland) will be considered and 100% Remote is possible.

HP-UX Unix systems - this is critical

Perl, Shell and Bash scripting

Some Apache would be nice

Will need to do monthly reboots

EDI scripting

User permissions

Deploy PowerBuilder code throughout the week

Responsible for Backup – monitors the Backup as a Service; our primary contact for this service

Responsible for Storage (older EMC VNX systems)

client said “this person needs to solve problems when they come up” and that critical-thinking skill set

Their biggest concern is the hardware really hasn’t been supported since 2015. They are starting to experience drive issues and concerned the environment just fails
