Job Description

Perform duties to set up and operate a number of different manual as well as computerized numerical controlled gear cutting machining operations. Strictly adhere to all documented work procedures for machining operations. Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity. Actively contribute to the improvement of 5S and Continuous Improvement in the department. Actively participate in cross training program to improve and broaden skill set. Promote safety awareness and comply with all safety rules.

Key Accountabilities

  • Records all labor and job time accurately in Microsoft Navision
  • Produce all parts per the job routing, quality procedures and manufacturing prints
  • Follow all quality system policies and procedures.
  • Perform most any job at rate with minimal instruction
  • Will be responsible to set-up & operate equipment in the area (at rate)
  • Good knowledge of tooling
  • Maintain neat, well-organized work-area
  • Good Problem Solving Skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • This position requires the applicant to be a US Person with a US permanent residence. A US Person is a US Citizen or Green card holder
  • 3+ years experience in a close tolerance manufacturing environment running various production machines
  • Gear cutting machines (Gear Hobbing and/or Gear Shaping) experience is a huge plus
  • H/S diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years experience in gear cutting/grinding or other mfg operations
  • Strong knowledge of and experience performing setups including selection of speeds and feeds and making machine adjustments and corrections
  • Ability to verify part conformity using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other gauges
  • Ability to read and analyze engineering prints
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to relate to team members well and ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to multitask while being complete and thorough in following documented procedures
  • Attitude of openness to change and exhibit a desire to improve every day
  • Will train a strong candidate with established manufacturing machinist credentials
