Data Software Engineer Modis is looking for an experienced Data Software Engineer for a contract-to-hire remote position. The Data Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining services for backend distribution services and data flow pipelines.

Requirements:

10+ years of practical experience designing and building data solutions

Excellent programming skills and strong understanding of Python

Enterprise experience with Google Cloud Platform Big Data products including Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, and more.

Understand different types of storage (filesystem, relational, NoSQL) and working with various kinds of data (structured, unstructured, metrics, log files, etc.)

Experience with data pipelines (ETL, ELT) and data wrangling procedures using Python and SQL.

Experience with batch and stream processing (including Google Cloud Platform Dataflow/Kafka Streams)

Good understanding of data integration and delivery patterns via HTTPS, Event Messaging, SFTP and API paradigms (REST, GraphQL)

Experience with developing for public clouds like Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)

Experience with microservice patterns, API development, RESTful web services

Identify, design and implement internal process improvements by automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery
